THE ADEGA HISTORY
The home grown story of how your favourite Adega Restaurant came into being is worth sharing. It tells of a man by the name of Luis Ferreira who in the late 90's converted a house in Kensington, in East Johannesburg, into a low profile Portuguese eatery for family and friends to gather for lunch each Tuesday and enjoy Traditional Portuguese fare and hospitality
Word spread about this eatery called "Adega do Monge" and soon the demand for its patrons required the eatery to open two days a week, thereafter three days and so on. It was soon realised that the popularity of this establishment could no longer be contained and so in 1998 the first fully fledged Restaurant was opened to the public. The venue exceeded all expectations and since than it established itself a home of Traditional Portuguese hospitality with the number Adega Franchise nationwide and now spreading through Africa and other parts of the world.... OBRIGADO!!!!!
